Gas! You never know when you wake up how much gas is going to be. Sometimes it goes down dramatically and sometime is goes up outrageously. You just never know. Right now they are creeping back up. Me, being a young adult and living on my own, having to worry about gas prices is just one more thing to the list. So I thought I would try and find some tips to help out with the situation and this is what I found.
ENGINE: When warming up your car, you only want to warm it up for about thirty to forty five seconds. Even if it's one of those really cold mornings, this is plenty of time. You don't want to start up your car needlessly. If you need to wait in your car for something leave it idle. Your car sitting idle for about a minute takes as much gas as starting it. Be sure if you do keep it running your not waiting for ever though. Make sure not to rev your engine up, especially when turning the cars off. Not only does it waste gas but it weakens the oil pressure. When starting to move (like after a red light) make sure not to floor the gas. You want to really ease on the pedal.
BUYING GAS: You want to buy your gas at the coolest time of the day. (early morning or late evening) This is when the gas is densest. You'll get more for your money. Never fill the tank more than needed. When the pump clicks meaning it's full don't put more in. You are just wasting gas. The gas will overflow and leak out. You might not notice it when your standing there, but it does when your moving.
I thought these here were some pretty good tips so I thought I would share them with everyone. If you want some more good tips, simply go to this website.
