Hydroplaning otherwise known as aquaplaning is when a layer of water builds between the tire and the road which results in loss of traction. That makes the car not respond to things like braking, steering or accelerating. Hydroplaning also effects planes and roller coasters.
There are many different reasons you hydroplane. You could turn, accelerate, or brake. This all puts different pressure on the tires differently. If there is water the water gets trapped under tire and lift the car physically of the ground which sometimes results in lose of control.
A way you can tell if your hydroplaning is if you feel you steering wheel get a little looser steering and if you RPMs go up meaning your tires are spinning. Some ways to avoid wrecking are not tuning the wheel or applying the brakes. Some ways to void hydroplaning is make sure you have good tires and the right tire pressure.
You never know when you could hydroplane so be careful. Make sure you take caution ad go the speed limit.
